Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - By 2026, Kotabaru Polytechnic in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, had graduated 491 students with Diploma III qualifications across four study programs.

"(This year) we are producing 79 skilled graduates across four majors," said Hasbi Asidik, Director of Kotabaru Polytechnic, following the 18th graduation ceremony held at the Gunung Jambangan Hall on Monday.

He explained that the 79 graduates came from four study programs: Electrical Engineering (18 students), Mechanical Engineering (14 students), Civil Engineering (14 students), and Business Administration (33 students).

“This graduation is not the end, but the beginning of different stage of life, both in world of work, industry, or independent business,” he said.

Hasbi advised the graduates to continue improve their competence in line with the rapid development of science and technology. He emphasized the importance of maintaing integrity, not stop learning, and carrry the good name of their almamater wherever they work.

On that occasion, he expressed his appreciation to the district goverrnment of Kotabaru for supporting education through scholarship program for Kotabaru Polytechnic students. Gratitude was also extended to Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region XI Kalimantan and corporate partners who have contributed to supporting education and human resource development.

He noted that the synergy between universities and the industrial sector must be continuously strengthened so that the educational process runs in harmony with the needs of the workforce. 

Assistant I for Government and People's Welfare Minggu Basuki conveyed the Kotabaru Government's congratulation and best wishes to all the graduates who have completed their studies.

He reminded them that successfully earning an academic degree is not the end of the journey, but rather the beginning of building a future through employment, entrepreneurship, or further education.
